Once I was going to get married to a girl from south India. My prospective wife’s concerned, well-wishing parents asked me what I did for a living. I said I observed butterflies.
Poetic, eh?
The father said, “No, no! I meant, what do you do for a living?”
So. I did not marry that girl, never even saw her again.
I still study butterflies for a living, though. I mean, living. True story.

CompletePublicationsCollageOur lab grew from an intense fascination of natural history. We have since expanded into other areas of biology such as evolutionary ecology and genetics. However, we remain deeply committed to the entire spectrum of biological sciences, from natural history to molecular genetics, as reflected in the publications listed below. The accompanying research and publications pages give further details. We strive to collaborate extensively with other naturalists/biologists who work in India, so please contact us if any of the publications below interest you.
